Bill Scott, co-founder & CEO
Bill, originally educated as a Social Worker, has been in the field of EEG biofeedback for 20 years. He is considered one of the pioneers in the field and a foremost authority on alpha-theta (an invaluable protocol for PTSD, phobias & fears, anxiety, addictions & peak performance).
Bill has been featured as an EEG Biofeedback Expert on Discovery Science, CBS’s The Doctors, lectured at the American Psychiatric Association five times, and presented research at the American Association for the Advancement of Science as Principal Investigator of a UCLA study.
In 1993, Bill also worked as Principal Investigator and first author of an addiction research project with Dr. Eugene Peniston. The Psychiatric Times published a feature article interviewing Bill about this landmark study. The Scott-Peniston protocols are still referred to by the names of the original scientists. Read More
Bill has been published in the January 2000 issue of Clinical Electroencephalography (EEG), and the September 2011 issue of Journal of Neurotherapy. He has taught more than 3,000 neurofeedback practitioners around the globe since 1995, and continues his research and innovative developments in the field of EEG Biofeedback as CEO of BrainPaint®.
Bill was selected as a Healthcare Transformer by StartUp Health in 2012.
Cora Scott, co-founder & President
Cora is on a mission to improve lives one brain at a time by creating awareness about evidence-based neurofeedback.
Cora is President of BrainPaint®, which she co-founded with Bill Scott in January of 2007. Prior to BrainPaint® she worked for technology companies ranging in size from IBM to pre-IPO start-ups that either went public or were acquired. Cora worked in Silicon Valley during the historic dot com rush, and in that technological incubator she witnessed what successful technology companies consistently did to produce superior products and services, as opposed to companies that failed.
Cora was selected as a Healthcare Transformer by StartUp Health in 2012.
BrainPaint® in Research
The following researchers are currently writing up the results of a 100+ subject ADHD study using BrainPaint® at Cri-Help:
- Jeffrey Schwartz, MD, Associate Research Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine
- Lobsang Rapgay, PhD at the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA
- Julian Keith, PhD of the Department of Psychology, University of North Carolina, Wilmington
A very large effect size has been found in the experimental group. This can be interpreted to mean that BrainPaint®‘s automation successfully guides a novice to be as effective in administering neurofeedback sessions as a 15 year veteran in the field of EEG biofeedback. BrainPaint® normalized ADHD symptoms in 1.5 weeks of intensive sessions.
The results should be published in 2013.
